First Steps to a Bright Future

Infant (3 - 17 months)

At Oyster Creek Montessori, each day is an invitation for our infants to discover, wonder, and engage with the world around them. We create a peaceful and secure environment where even our youngest learners feel safe to explore. Within this nurturing space, every child develops a trusting, meaningful connection with their teacher—laying the foundation for confidence, curiosity, and joyful learning.

  • A warm, nurturing environment with low child-to-teacher ratios, ensuring every infant receives attentive, meaningful care
  • Individualized support that honors each child's unique needs, rhythms, and developmental path
  • Thoughtfully prepared sensory experiences that encourage exploration, curiosity, and joyful discovery
  • Language development fostered through gentle conversation, songs, and rich daily interactions
Toddler program

First Steps Towards Independence

Toddler (18 - 24 months)

At Oyster Creek Montessori, our Toddler Program is thoughtfully designed to support each child's natural desire for independence. In a beautifully prepared environment created just for toddlers, children are encouraged to explore, make choices, and engage in meaningful work that nurtures their growing confidence and abilities.

  • Practical life activities—such as pouring, spooning, and caring for themselves—build coordination, concentration, and independence
  • Rich language experiences that expand vocabulary through conversation, stories, and purposeful interactions
  • Opportunities to strengthen both gross and fine motor skills through movement, hands-on materials, and real-world tasks
  • Gentle guidance in developing social skills, collaboration, and respectful peer interactions
  • Support for toilet learning when the child shows readiness, following their natural pace and comfort
Transition program

Bridging to Primary

Transition (2 - 3 years)

Our Transition Program gently bridges the gap between the toddler and primary environments, offering children the nurturing support they still need while preparing them for the increased independence and structure of the Montessori primary classroom.

  • Introduction to more refined and complex Montessori materials that spark deeper concentration and curiosity
  • Enriched language experiences and early pre-reading activities that build a strong foundation for literacy
  • Thoughtful preparation for the routines and expectations of the primary classroom, always paced to the child's readiness
  • Continued emphasis on independence, encouraging children to take confident steps toward caring for themselves and their environment
Primary program

Develop Social Behavior

Primary (3 - 5 years)

At Oyster Creek Montessori, we honor this stage as a remarkable period of growth, when children begin to coordinate their movements, refine their thinking, and expand their language with purpose and joy. In this carefully prepared environment, children learn from the rich experiences around them — absorbing language, developing cognitive and motor skills, and building social awareness through meaningful interactions with adults and peers.

  • A complete Montessori curriculum encompassing Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, and Cultural studies
  • Mixed-age classrooms (3–5 years) that foster collaboration, leadership, and community
  • Individual and small-group lessons tailored to each child's readiness and developmental path
  • A strong emphasis on character development, grace, and courtesy to nurture empathy, respect, and responsibility
Kindergarten/First Grade program

Advanced Learning & Leadership

Kindergarten/First Grade (5 - 7 years)

Our Kindergarten and First Grade Program builds upon the strong foundation established in the Primary years, offering children opportunities for deeper academic exploration while nurturing their emerging leadership skills. In this thoughtfully prepared environment, students take on greater responsibility, engage with advanced materials, and develop the confidence to guide younger peers with kindness and respect.

  • Advanced Montessori materials and concepts that extend learning across all subject areas
  • Meaningful leadership opportunities as children serve as mentors and role models within the classroom community
  • Enriched reading, writing, and mathematics experiences that support higher-level thinking and mastery
  • Gentle, developmentally aligned preparation for the expectations of the elementary years
After School program

Safe & Enriching After-School Environment

After School (5 - 12 years)

Our After-School Program provides a peaceful, enriching environment where children can unwind, focus, and continue learning after their school day. We offer a balance of structure and choice, ensuring each child feels supported, engaged, and cared for.

  • After-school care that offers consistency and a welcoming space
  • Dedicated homework support and quiet study time to encourage responsibility and independence
  • Recreational activities and games that promote creativity, movement, and joyful social interaction
  • Holiday and break-day care that provides a safe, nurturing environment when school is out
Enrichment program

Enrichment

At Oyster Creek Montessori, our enrichment program extends each child's learning beyond the core curriculum, offering opportunities to explore new interests, express creativity, and connect more deeply with the world around them. These experiences complement Montessori principles by nurturing curiosity, independence, and joyful discovery. These enrichment opportunities are included in our curriculum—there is no additional fee to participate.

  • Art and creative expressions that invite children to explore materials, techniques, and their own imagination
  • Music and movement experiences that support rhythm, coordination, and a joyful connection to sound and motion
  • Gentle introductions to foreign languages through songs, conversation, and cultural exposure
  • Gardening and nature studies that cultivate responsibility, wonder, and a meaningful relationship with the natural world
Summer Camp program

Develop Team Building
